GEMS is a software suite designed for monitoring flows and historical data across the electrical grid in real time. It allows viewing of statistics and instantaneous control over the grid particularly in case of emergencies.

The GEMS suite consists of 3 components:

iX-RMS Remote Metering System

This is a data acquisition system which reads meters through a variety of protocols and transmission methods and presents this information after processing to Control Engineers and Operators through an HMI. All information is also archived to a SQL Database for reporting and auditing.

The real time and historical information is made available to iX-ELD for optimal dispatch, forecasting and simulation. Events and system information is also sent to iX-Shift Log for reporting and auditing.

RMS can use multiple servers to break up meter polling and processing and each server can poll multiple meters simultaneously.

iX-ELD Economic Load Dispatch

This is a Decision Support System that provides forecasts and optimal dispatch in real time as well as simulation information. Multiple algorithms for dispatch are available such as Lagrange and Incremental methods. The system will take natural and artificial constraints in to consideration such as those from Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) or user-defined restrictions.

Historical and forecast information is provided on a GUI with a 3D chart which can be manipulated for optimum visibility of relevant information.

iX-Shift Log

This is an Event and Activity Management System to track utility events through automatic input from the Customers SCADA’s, iX-RMS and manual operator entry.

Shift Log provides an interface for the recording of events that happen on a 24 hour shift basis implemented for an entire Electrical Generation and Distribution system. Reports can be later run to gather what has occurred in a given time period, which is a Regulatory and Safety requirement. The software has capabilities to include embedded intelligence and will allow for complete system visual modeling.

Information is also automatically imported from SCADA and iX-RMS.

Geozone Marketplace™ is a web based advertisers cloud platform provided with a paired mobile customer application and the passport to discounts, Free4Me™. It was designed to connect sellers and buyers in a localized marketplace via a mobile service. In other words, it links people who want to buy something from their favourite store with those who want to offer it using geospatial technology.

It allows sellers to reach new customers through targeted marketing, and monitor its impact through real-time analytic tools and dashboards. Meanwhile, buyers will have the benefit of receiving real-time updates on offers, specials or giveaways from their favourite store nearby.

NQMS Wireline Performance management for PSTN

NQMS Wireline is a performance optimization and decision support tool for managing PSTN switches. It handles both legacy and next generation switches:

  • Active probes provide a machine-to-machine interface to extract operational metrics from legacy switches.
  • Intelligent data analysis tools transform data from next generation switches.

The structured data that is produced can be analyzed via built in reports or the Wireline Real-time Display (RTD) These provide support for management decisions and can direct technical efforts. The data can also be exported to various formats and accessed via external tools such as Microsoft® Office Excel or Tableau® Software.

Arlinks is a DICOM Radiology Information System Interface designed to provide the flexibility for communicating with radiology equipment. It automates the transferring of pending patient data with the prescribed X-ray service from the Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) using DICOM protocol and automatically updates it to the NX software work order list upon completion.

In a 24/7 fast-paced environment tracking inventory movement, location and quantity is much like tracking enemies on a battlefield. Scout is a solution designed by Ixanos to simplify the process of inventory stock taking. It leverages a mobile device with built in barcode scanner which displays to the stock taker a list of inventory that must be counted. Scout interfaces directly with the inventory database from the existing software system to pull item descriptions and store quantities.

Scout consists of two main components:

  1. A web application for managing Inventory Work Orders.
  2. An android application for electronic stock taking.

From the web app, an inventory clerk creates lists of inventory that must be counted. Item descriptions and quantity information are pulled directly from the HIMS.

An automated Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) middleware solution designed and implemented by Ixanos™ for the Automated transmission of accounting data from Hospital Information Management Software (HIMS) to Financial Accounting Package.

It comprises of two main components:

  1. An SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS)

    This provides the accountants with the means to:

    • Validate data on the HIMS

      No data is exported from the HIMS without first being verified by an Accountant. Only if there are no errors or mismatched balances will the accountant submit a day’s transactions for processing by the ixDIS service. Accountants maintain full control before and after the ETL process.

    • Preview the outcome of the transfer

      This is a view of the expected data in the Accounting software system. It provides the necessary cross-referencing information to verify that no errors occurred during the ETL process.

    • Provide traceability

      To understand the root cause of an error in case of incongruencies between the transactions created in the Accounting Software system and what was previously expected from the preview.

  2. A Microsoft Windows® service

    This background application is responsible for the ETL process that runs constantly on the server without requiring user input. It was coded using the C# programming language, and leveraged the .NET platform. The core of the service involves the business logic for handling the ETL process. The main logic is in mapping the HIMS vouchers to appropriate accounting software transaction types and grouping them into 6 batches covering 3 accounting software transaction types: Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Bank Transactions.

    Since TRANSACT works transparently in the background it was important to provide feedback in the event of errors in the ETL process. Currently feedback is provided via automated email to key people at the Hospital where it’s implemented. More technical information is also emailed to Ixanos staff for expedited issue resolution.
